WELCOME to your Natural Resources Stewards Wiki!
"What the heck is a wiki???" you may ask...
Basically, it's an interactive web page allowing all participants to share our opportunities and ideas.
Ideas can be:
- Continuing education opportunities, like workshops & field trips
-
Volunteer opportunities and project requests to allow others to see what's happening and give them a chance to help out!
-
Any other interesting finds you think fellow Natural Resources Stewards might find interesting,
-
such as: web links, books, television programs, radio programs, earth friendly products, etc.
Eventually, it will also help reduce email traffic as we will be using this wiki to centralize and share information, but for now we will continue to send emails and will also post it on this wiki until folks get used to using it.
For many of you this is a new way to communicate, so we want to make it as easy as possible by giving you help right here on the wiki. But, if you get stuck and frustrated email me at mary.tebo@unh.edu. The first thing you may want to do is to add this page to your Favorites or Bookmarks for easy access to it. You should be able to just look above and see the tab and then add this page.
Okay, more on using the wiki below, but for now ...
Please refer to the sidebar on the right for Volunteer Opportunities, Continuing Education, Events, and Interesting Links. Information will be posted regularly (don't forget you can post to it too). If you have not used a wiki before, please take a minute to view the video, "Wikis in Plain English," below. The sidebar also has many additional tools, including the link to report volunteer hours. So take a look around the wiki, and if you have ideas about other things we should add, or on ease of use please let us know.
Thanks!
Mary Tebo Davis

Information About this Wiki:
People today live in a world filled with social media and interactive technology. Web tools invite us to collaborate, contribute and share ideas and knowledge with others helping to improve communication skills collectively. For this group we will be using a wiki. A wiki ( IPA: [ w .ki ] or [ wi .ki ]) is a website that allows visitors to add and edit content. A collaborative tool for organizing information on Web sites. The word wiki is a Hawaiian word meaning "quick."Wiki systems are therefore designed so that their content can be made available in a quick and uncomplicated manner.
